INTRAMAMMARY MASTITIS TREATMENT IN DAIRY COWS DURING LACTATION

COMPOSITION

In each syringe contains:

Amoxicillin (as trihydrate)……………………………………..500 mg

Clavulanic acid (as Potassium clavulanate)…………….100 mg

Excipients qsq……………………………………………………….10 ml

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of clinical mastitis caused by the following bacteria susceptible to the combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid: Staphylococci (including β-lactamase producing strains) Streptococci (including S. agalactiae, S. dysgalactiae and S. uberis) Escherichia coli (including β-lactamase producing strains). 

 

Target species: Lactating cow, goat, sheep

DOSAGE

For intramammary administration.

Cow: The entire contents of one syringe should be infused into each infected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking, once daily for 3 – 5 consecutive days. 

Goats, sheep: A half of content of one syringe should be infused into each infected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking, once daily for 3 – 5 consecutive days.

ADMISTRATION

Milk out the infected quarter. Clean the teat thoroughly and wipe with cotton wool soaked in alcohol. Allow to dry. Infuse the entire syringe into the teat canal of the infected quarter. Dip or spray teat with a recognized teat antiseptic. Aseptic precautions should be observed at all times.

WITHDRAWAL TIME: 

Milk: 72 hours

Meat: 48 hours

STORAGE

Placed at a cool dry place, avoid direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
