INTRAMAMMARY MASTITIS TREATMENT IN DAIRY COWS DURING LACTATION

COMPOSITION

In each syringe contains:

Procaine benzylpenicillin…………………….1,000,000 IU

Benzathine benzylpenicillin………………….1,000 IU

Dihydrostreptomycin (as sulfate)……………1,000 mg

Excipients qsq……………………………………………10 ml

INDICATION

  • Specific treatment of acute and subacute mastitis in lactating cows caused by organisms sensitive to penicillin and streptomycin include: Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, Staphylococcus aureus, Echerichia coli, Salmonella, etc.
  • Target species: Lactating cow, goat, sheep

DOSAGE

For intramammary administration.

  • Cow: The entire contents of one syringe should be infused into each infected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking, once daily for 3 – 5 consecutive days. 
  • Goats, sheep: A half of content of one syringe should be infused into each infected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking, once daily for 3 – 5 consecutive days.

ADMISTRATION

Milk out the infected quarter. Clean the teat thoroughly and wipe with cotton wool soaked in alcohol. Allow to dry. Infuse the entire syringe into the teat canal of the infected quarter. Dip or spray teat with a recognized teat antiseptic. Aseptic precautions should be observed at all times.

WITHDRAWAL TIME: 

  • Milk: 72 hours
  • Meat: 48 hours

STORAGE

Placed at a cool dry place, avoid direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
